There are two types of Achilles tendonitis:

What’s Involved in Achilles Tendon Rupture Recovery?

If your issue requires surgery, you can expect the recovery time for an Achilles tendon rupture to last from four to six months, depending on your specific case. In the first few weeks, you’ll progress slowly, at first moving your heel then slowly advancing to weight bearing, walking, running, and an eventual full return to normal activities.
